Your Future
A third of the year is gone. Are you moving towards your ambitions? Did you subscribe to this newsletter because you were thinking about starting a consulting firm? What steps have you taken? Were you interested in learning how to improve your business? What have you done?
Regardless of your situation or ambitions, what have you done to improve? How have you stretched yourself? Alan Weiss talks about the one percent solution; improve one percent a day and in seventy days you are twice as good. Have you? Are you?
What classes have you taken? What books have you read? Have you enlisted someone to help you? Have you implemented that plan you thought of four months ago? Have you taken any steps to implement the plan?
Are you healthier? Are your relationships better? Are you more relaxed? Is your office better organized and more efficient? Do you have a bigger prospect list? Have you improved your presentation skills? What new marketing tactics have you implemented? Have you improved your website (or launched one)?
Life isn't about perfection. Focus on improvement.
You can't do anything about yesterday. How about today? What will you do today to improve?
The cure for procrastination is to start the work now.

The 90/24 Promise
Clients and Mentor Clients pay me for access. When they call, they want to talk. When they email, they want a reply. My product is my advice.
Several years ago I started making clients a 90/24 promise. I return all phone messages in 90 minutes and all emails within 24 hours. It started out as a service standard. It’s become a marketing tool – clients love it. I put it in my proposals and mention it in my discussions with prospects. It makes me different and addresses a pet peeve of many people. What is more frustrating than not being able to talk to your advisor? My clients know I'm going to get back to them quickly.
