Helping Insurance Experts Build Great Businesses September, 2007 Our Job as Insurance Consultants and Advisors Business advisor, Alan Weiss puts it quite simply, "The consultants role is to improve the client's condition." Eloquent, succinct, and right on. In all we do for our clients, our objective should be to help them improve. Better insurance, better premiums, better risk management, lower losses, fewer administrative hassles. That's the value we provide. In our marketing to clients we must focus on the results, the improvements, we make for our clients. Look at your website. Does it focus on what you do? Nobody cares! Your prospects are interested in the results they get for hiring you. Clients invest in us. They want to know that they are getting a return on their investment. Finding Places to Get Your Articles Published Published articles build your credibility. Publishing the first article is the hardest. You build from there. Here are a few places to solicit for publication:
The possibilities are endless. Go to Google and type you state name and the profession: “Massachusetts Plumbers Association.” You can also Google your state and the word association (as in “Massachusetts Association”). Ask your clients and prospects what publications they read or what associations they belong to. Translate articles into speaking engagements. Trade groups and chambers of commerce are always looking for interesting topics. Referral Network - I'm building an online listing of insurance consultants. This may grow into a referral network and directory. I need to know who is out there! If you're interested in being a part of a directory, please complete the form. There is no cost or fee.
